Two-factor authentication usually involves receiving a numeric code as a text or email from the account you are trying to access, in order to verify your identity. Many of us rely on two-factor authentication to keep our important online accounts secure. They may call your provider and say your phone was lost or damaged and ask to activate the new SIM.
